Photography
Three weeks ago I started my digital photography class. Personally I feel it would more beneficial if we started with a intro to film and darkroom photography class. Just so students can have that feel of a classic camera, then to move on to digital. Well that is my opinion, and as usual it doesn't really count. Anywho, photos I snapped for an assignment.

No need for words
I got a phone call from my grandpa yesterday letting me know there is mail for my parents at his place. Realizing I have no way of communicating with him (because I don't speak Chinese, and he doesn't speak English), I called my cousin to make sure she was going to be home. And of course she wasn't going to be.
So after work, I stopped by only because I nearly forgot I went there almost everyday after school and hung out with my grandpa without having to talk to him. And I could probably do that now.
I decided to snap a picture of him.
I love my grandpa.

Lost
so i've lost my wallet twice this month, and i am just thankful for those that returned it to me.
since i am not so much of a bad kid anymore, i think God (if there is one) loves me.

Weiner Circle
This American Life is my all time favorite radio program. And they now (or been having) a television show on Showtime. Sweet! I found this act about weiner circle, the one chicago on clark near fullerton.
big plus! they used The Budos Band's "T.I.S.W.F" as an end song!

This past weekend I rode 100 miles through the farm lands of Michigan. Man oh man, was it a tough ride. The first 70 miles was nice with two rest stops, afterwards, the single gear I was riding wasn't doing it for me.
The treacherous pains in my legs started at mile 70 going up a long hill. I ended up stopping 2/3rd on my way up. As I was trying to climb off my bike, my legs were cramping like no other! I couldn't bend my knees. I sat at the side of the road massaging the cramps out and drinking as much water as I could. After 5 minutes, I walked to the top of the hill, and started to ride again. And going down the hill, I could feel my legs about to cramp up more as I was spinning really fast. To make matters worst, we headed in to corn fields and about 25 mph head winds. At this point we were only riding about 8 mph; this was going on for about 6 miles. Then after, the rolling hills didn't seem as bad. I would just try to climb up slowly, and gain momentum going down. And that is how I survived the last 30 miles of the Apple Cider Century.Thursday, October 4, 2007

and again....
I've been hospitalized this past weekend due to me being diagnosed with peritonsillar abcess. as gross as it sounds, it is gross. the left side of my throat had a pocket swelled with puss and blood and was growing larger and larger. so i made my mom take me to the ER. I guess it was a serious matter, since as soon as i sat down they called me back up. inorder for this thing to go down, what the nice folks at NWMH did was, take a really long syringe and poke at the back of my throat and tried to draw back whatever puss was in that pocket. since there were two med students staring at the back of my throat and the doctor not really getting anywhere. they decided to check me in. the next day they got a nose, throat, and mouth doctor in to cut open the pocket while i used a suction to keep any puss and blood going down my throat. gladly enough i had vicadon going through my IV, so i barely felt any pain... W00T!

Manifest Destiny Wagoncat: Alleycat
This 4th of july, i was pretty bummed that the metra did not allow bikes on the train during taste of chicago (I FUCKING HATE THE TASTE!!!!). The original plan was to go out to robert's bbq in elign, since i could not head that way, I decided to race my very first alleycat. It was almost 20 miles on top of my 7 commuter ride. This was also the first time i rode out the suburbs, i got out as far as elmwood park. bah, i got 11th out of 20 something, and 3 out of the 4 ladies. I thought I did pretty good for being slow, crippled, and asthmatic.
here is the route:
WOOT!

Airborne
So today, June 29th, 2007, was one of those typical days were I didn't want to wake up. Well I actually did at 6:00am, still needing to shower and all that before having to leave at 6:30 and getting at work by 7am. Yeah, well, it still took me awhile before I woke up. I eventually got out of the house at 6:35, taking my normal Thursday route to NU. Archer Ave, 18th St., State St, then over to the LFP. Well waiting at the light at Roosevelt and Michigan Avenue, I decided to cross since the lights were changing. yeah bad idea, A Cadillac runs a red light. Of course, they hit my front wheel, causing me to fly up in the air about 10 feet. I remembered my exact thought, "oh shit, I'm going to die." Obviously I didn't, but I did sit there for a good 10 minutes, not being able to move. Not out of shock, but out of pain. Oh yes, and to top it off, the fucker ran.
this makes it visit number 3 to the ER this year..
here are some injury pictures.
To begin with, i walked like an old man, and now i walk like an old man that needs to be put to sleep... ACK!
