Imperfections

don't you wish you can take your imperfections of any kind, and just gather them up and throw it out?

Micro Photography

so people that know cameras known micro lens cost a crap load (along with any other len). well, while browsing the interweb, as i usually do at work, i found an alternative and money saving way to take those awesome micro-macro photos. it's called reverse lens... you just put the lens on backwards and BAM! time to take some macros. fyi, you can't just mount the lens on the body, you'll just hold it in place or get an adapter

and here is my attempt..
sharpie

in the picture above, i used my AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 lens. and i manually opened up the shutter with my finger to get some light in.

and this is the whole picture of what i was trying to take, a sharpie.

The Dirty Deee

this past weekend i went out to Detroit to visit my dear friend Kristine. friday night i flew out without a problem, arrived safely to detroit. my first impression of detroit's airport is that it reminded me of midway airport. knowning me, any new place i travel to i need to compare it to my home town or any place i've experienced before. i must say detroit isn't very comparable to chicago. it's very different. well maybe comparable to chicago 10 years ago. but chicago 10 years ago was the best times in chicago. i don't know about detroit being in it's best times now, but it is a quiet city, dirty but it has personality to it. and the dirty isn't garbage everywhere and it does not smell bad like nyc, it's just that the buildings are not clean. and you can't really smell pollution in the air. so detroit is an alright place... i like it.

Things i did...

Friday
friday night, kristine and i went to a restaurant called Memphis Smoke in Royal Oak Downtown

food that was ordered:
Appetizer: spinach artichoke
it was too hot and the chips were wayyyyy tooooo salty!

drinks: 2 vodka lemonades
maybe not be enough alcohol, but that maybe because i'm a lush...

Kristine: cesear salad
too many croƻtons? that is possible..

Me: Fish and chips
big ol' fish sticks! it was really greasy, and the reason why americans are fat and are prone to have heart attacks.

we stopped off at a bar. and it was okay...

saturday
after waking up, we wanted breakfast. we 'yelped' it and found toast. it suppose to be cheap and good. well we got there and it was a 30 minute wait! so we headed down to the motown museum. fun times!

then we headed over to the Detroit Breakfast and Grill. Had some eggs, french toast, biscuits and gravys...

afterwards we headed over to the museum of contemporary arts of detroit. they had the alex melamid's holy hip hop exhibit and rei kawakubo's reFUSING FASHION. very interesting and exciting :)

we hunted for a movie theater. our first choice was to watch 'definitely, maybe', but ended watching 'charlie barlett'. it was still an interesting movie. not the greatest, but nice.

and for dinner we picked up some noodles and mushroom tomato sauce for "home made" spaghetti. yum yum!

then off to baker's keyboard jazz lounge. fun times!

sunday
last day in detroit. we were going to head to toast again, but we saw the wait. then we thought to go into downtown to see what they got. and as we walked around, we noticed everything, and i mean EVERYTHING, was closed! except for coney island and some kind of french chain (i forget the name). we ended going to detroit's breakfast and grill again. this time everything was badddd... oh well

my flight home got delayed, but on the plane i captured some nice photos. oh yes, united airlines forgot my baggage in detroit...
